Trust a Family-Owned Memphis Institution With Your Downtown Plumbing Needs
National Economy Plumbers has 80+ years of experience with Memphis plumbing.
Family- and Locally-Owned From the Beginning
National Economy Plumbers began as a family-run business in Memphis in 1938. Our leadership grew up in the business and have over 100 years of combined experience, and our technicians have been on the job for decades.
With long-standing client relationships with downtown institutions like A. Schwab and Dinstuhl’s, we’re familiar with downtown’s commercial environment. We work across all types of businesses downtown, from restaurants, to general stores, to apartment and condo complexes.
Expert Plumbing on New and Old Plumbing Systems
With our decades of experience, National Economy Plumbers has worked with older cast iron and galvanized piping systems and with newer plastics-based systems. Whether your business is located in a historic downtown building or a shiny new development, National Economy Plumbers has the know-how to address your plumbing needs.
We Understand the Downtown Environment
We Work With New and Old Downtown Institutions
Our downtown client base includes long-standing institutions like A. Schwab and Dinstuhl’s and newer institutions like Aldo’s Pizza Pies and Bar Dog. We understand the scope of downtown, the mixture of new developments and historic buildings that make up the Memphis skyline. We have the expert plumbing experience to work with the various systems that come with that blended environment.
We work across downtown—on Beale Street, on the South Main Historic Arts district, in the historic buildings lining Front Street, and in new and historic residential developments—to keep the systems that locals and tourists alike rely on running smoothly.

Have Questions? We Have Answers!
Do I need to get my downstairs or upstairs neighbor involved in an apartment or condo if there is a leak?
Depending on the location and significance of the leak, quite often the source of the leak can be coming from another residence, or a leak from your residence can affect other residences.
Can you repair plumbing in condos and apartments?
Some multi-family buildings have HOAs and/or the building may be responsible for the plumbing system and repairs. In most cases, the homeowner is responsible for plumbing fixtures and exposed plumbing connections within the residence.
How do you know whether a plumbing job requires a repair versus a replacement?
Repair versus replacement is based upon many factors, like whether the cost of repair will be close to the cost of an actual replacement, and whether the integrity of the older plumbing fixture is better than what is made today. Each decision is based upon what is more economical and what is best long term for the customer.
Do you provide emergency restaurant plumbing? Are you available during dinner service hours and on weekends?
We provide emergency services for our restaurant owners, as well as residential and other commercial customers.
Do you service all aspects of restaurant plumbing? I.e. grease traps, drain clogs, kitchen line maintenance, water heaters?
Yes, to assist owners and managers, we service and maintain everything related to the plumbing system in a restaurant.
Can commercial plumbing jobs be completed while the business is open?
Every business is different and many repairs can be made during hours of operation; however, it is often that we are providing service after closing hours.
